Today we want to talk about mental health. We all have times of stress or depression or excitement, but overtime, experiencing consistent high levels of these emotions can impact our overall health.

As an entrepreneur, I cycle through these emotions daily, as I'm sure that many of you do as well. In my effort to bring my focus back to my own health, as it has historically been focused solely on the health of my family or my business, it has become clear that an essential part of a healthy mental state is practicing the art of meditation.

As a pharmacist, I have a tendency to want to see science and research to back up health claims. Luckily, there is a vast amount of research to show the amazing benefits of meditation to overall health. Below is a wonderful infographic, from Dr. Emma Seppala of Standford University's Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education.
