Infographic: The Sun Vs. The People

Don’t let the title of this infographic scare you, there is no war between us and the sun. As we all know, the sun provides many benefits to our everyday life. In fact, we would not have everyday life without it. However, those UV Rays that the sun emits each and every day can be extremely harmful and it's important to be aware of the facts associated with overexposure to the sun.

According to the Vitamin D Council, “You don’t need to tan or burn your skin to get vitamin D. You only need to expose your skin for around half the time it takes for your skin to turn pink and begin to burn.” This means, you can no longer use Vitamin D as an excuse to lay out at the beach all day and come home with a deep golden tan (or in my case a deep lobster red).

The infographic below provides skin cancer facts, effects of overexposure to UV Rays and tips for preventing skin damage associated with the sun.
